Speaker:

Welcome back to Elevated and our season of examining how to use AI in your kitchen and bath design business. In this episode, we're exploring a topic that can make or break any creative endeavor. Getting started. We'll discuss how AI can help you conquer your fear of the blank page and unlock your full creative potential. You know that feeling when you're faced with a blank page and suddenly, you know, Your mind is blank too? Creating something from nothing can trigger overwhelm and fear that can just cripple the process. The blank page is my kryptonite. The thought of starting from scratch can be so overwhelming that it triggers procrastination as a self defense mechanism. I once spent hours meticulously cleaning and organizing my college apartment just to avoid starting a crucial paper. My story was that I work better under pressure. Yeah, insert the eye roll here. Here's the thing. I've learned to embrace the power of the shitty first draft. It's a strategy that has helped me and countless others break through the paralysis of the blank page. As the renowned researcher and storyteller Brene Brown calls it, the SFD. And it's a stepping stone to greatness. In the past, my team would create the SFDs for me, but now, AI can take on that role. In any case, when I am creating something new, I go to AI for my SFD. Need to send a pitch for a speaking event that has a very specific requirement for submitting? Feed the requirements of my topic into AI for an SFD. Working on an editorial calendar for the next 90 days for our company? Put in our last one and our focus for the next 90 days to AI and get an SFD. Proposing a new partnership agreement with an industry leader? Ask AI for your SFD. AI has the potential to revolutionize the way we work, not only for those who struggle with a blank page, like me, but for everyone. With the ability to generate first drafts quickly, AI can facilitate better communication and make it easier for everyone to get started. There's no excuse not to try when you have the option of using AI. But, what if you're great at getting started, however you struggle with finishing? AI can help there too! By feeding your first draft into an AI tool and defining your desired outcome, you can let AI create the next revision for you. One of my clients even used AI to write the first draft of a toast for her sister's wedding. Using AI for these creative tasks can also help you develop the skill of clearer intentions. To direct an AI tool effectively, you must first be clear about your desired outcome. This clarity can be a game changer in both your professional and personal life as it helps you overcome one of the most significant obstacles, not knowing what you want. Now that you know how AI can help you transform your SFDs into works of completion, tune into our next episode where we'll discuss the exciting ways AI can assist you with image editing.
